Daquan Davis…

Local Rivals150 guard Daquan Davis will be committing to Providence tomorrow. I’ve switched my FutureCast.

Had heard a little while back he was trending away from Maryland, but obviously with no visit now and a commitment coming, he won’t be a Terp.

Basically the way I understand it, Maryland staff just decided to move in a different direction while Davis camp also felt best to look alsewhere. He didn’t have an overly impressive spring on the AAU circuit and it sounds like the nail in the coffin was his play during Maryland’s team camp a couple of weeks back.

It’s no secret, I’m a fan of his game and think he can play at this level. That said, I think I’ve also made it clear, he isn’t a kid with elite measurables or athleticism or anything like that.

At this point, Malachi Palmer and Jaden Mustaf seem to be the primary guard targets.

As for a PG in 2024, my guess is they will be looking at the transfer portal as I’m just not yet sold on Harris-Smith being the guy.

***Indiana Game Thread***

We're about 20 minutes from tipoff between the Terps and Hoosiers in Bloomington. Good chance this game is ugly. Like rock fight ugly. These two teams come into this one as two of the worst three-point shooting teams in America. Both teams have had some issues with keeping opponents off the offensive glass, as well.

For Maryland, they need to minimize the unforced turnovers and make a concerted effort to get the ball inside to Reese. Luckily for the Terps, Woodson is old-school NBA and would probably rather chop his arm off than run any kind of zone defense.

Maryland definitely has the better backcourt, while the Terps' front court will have their hands full with an Indiana starting front line as talented as any in America.

Tonight a homecoming of sorts for Geronimo who played for the Hoosiers the past three seasons, while Derik Queen likely to have an eye on this one as he continues to evaluate.
