Blame the coaches all you want for that one.

I do not understand the onsides kick to open the half. This staff has a half problem. The fumble end of half is on the player, the 2 penalties are on the players. The TO to “freeze” the K lost the game. That 4 point difference was the difference. Let them kick the goddamn FG. What pissed me off the most, though, was running on 3rd and 6 when they needed to go down and score at the end. That would have at least brought balance to the 3rd straight end of half comedy. I want them to run the ball but not in that situation.

What the F are y’all thinking? The FG, while I’m glad he made it, was playing to lose. The onsides kick try, which I didn’t see thankfully while in the bathroom, set a bad tone for the 2nd half which gave them a short field to add to the momentum shift at the end of the half. The odds of recovering it aren’t good even when in surprise mode. The coaches have to do a better job with tactics and strategy. That was piss poor. Some things you can’t control, like the pass at the end that Coley defended well to put them in FG pos, but only the coaches do tactics and strategy and they failed the players today. They have a situational strategy problem.

***Illinois Game Thread***

We're a little over an hour away from kickoff between the Terps and Illini on this homecoming weekend.

Its been spitting all morning in and around College Park, but the forecast is currently calling for no rain after kickoff until after the game should end.

Obviously, the big news is that the Terps will be without four starters today in Dyches, Still, Bullock and Trader. The biggest adjustment will be along the o-line where guys could be moving around all over the place.

The objective this weekend is to get out to a fast start, hopefully build a decent lead, get the win and come away with no more injuries as they head into the bye week.

Terps land commitment from local OL Trevor Szymanski

The Terps landed a commitment from Loyola Blakefield three-star OL Trevor Szymanski tonight. As I'm sure most here already know, he's the younger brother of current Terps freshman TE AJ Szymanski. At 6-foot-5, 270-pounds, he's another big body in the trenches as the Terps look to reload the OL room this offseason. Maryland is now up to nine offensive line commitments and Szymanski is the second since the start of the season, joining St. Mary's OT Davon Watkins.

This class is likely to have some major fireworks down the stretch, especially if they keep beating the teams they should and finish with 9 or 10 wins. But building depth in the trenches has been a top priority and they continue to add big bodies.
