Jalen Huskey announces commitment to Maryland

I mentioned Huskey on Friday as an official visitor and he shut it down after his visit to College Park. Love this commitment for Maryland as he is likely a multi-year plug and play starter at corner. He's got good size at 6-foot-1, 185 and he's shown he can do it vs. the big boys of the Big Ten. He was the 23rd highest graded DB on PFF and the 40th highest graded as far as actual coverage grades. Both very impressive.

Transfer portal visitors

Not a lot of visitors this week(end), but a few as they also await to here from one visitor from last week that is expected to announce a decision today.

- Maryland hosted former Georgia OL Ailou Bah the other day. He played in only three games for the Bulldogs this season as a redshirt freshman, but he has great size at 6-foot-5, 320-pounds and he was a Rivals250 four-star prospect at IMG coming out of high school with offers from a slew of offers including Maryland.

- They also hosted Murray State OT DJ Jones earlier in the week. Again, good size at 6-foot-5, 315-pounds and is a multi-year starter for the Racers. An Alabama native, he's got one year of eligibility remaining and would probably be a plug and play guy. Not a lot known about his recruitment at this point, but he has also picked up offers from UAB and Western Kentucky.

- Finally, Indiana OL transfer Zach Carpenter is expected to announce his commitment later today. He took earlier visits to Maryland and UNC and is at Miami this weekend. Obviously, don't like to hear that he's at Miami right before announcing with all the NIL money they throw around, but we will wait and see what happens.

- Expected in for a visit this weekend is former UNC DB Tayon Holloway. He has decent size at 6-foot, 180-pounds and he started 6 games this season as a redshirt freshman with 19 tackles and a pass breakup. He's from the Tidewater, Va. region and was a Rivals250 four-star prospect coming out of high school. Virginia native Latrell Scott is the point on this one. Holloway is still expected to visit LSU in a few weeks.

- They are also hosting Central Michigan DL Quindario Lee this weekend. A backup DL a season ago, he played 236 defensive snaps and also played on special teams. He started the final 9 games this season on defense with 28 tackles, three sacks and a fumble recovery. Another Alabama native, he has two years of eligibility remaining.
