On Matt Hodge...

Heard the visit went very well. That said, no commitment as of yet.

I'm also hearing the UVA visit is no longer going to happen as they just landed a commitment from a forward last night and I'd still be pretty shocked if he doesn't end up a Terp at this point. Don't see this one dragging out too much longer.

Now time to roll out the red carpet for Fland, hope for the best and close on Queen. You'd have to feel really good if they can have both Hodge and Queen wrapped up before Thanksgiving.

Maryland-Indiana game time announced

COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland will host Indiana on Saturday, Sept. 30 at SECU Stadium. The game will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and air on the Big Ten Network, it was announced today.

Maryland, which is off to a 3-0 start for the third straight season, is one of only six teams in the nation to start the season 3-0 and win each game by at least 18 points (No. 2 Michigan, No. 9 Notre Dame, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 5 USC & No. 8 Washington).

The Terps have won two straight against Indiana, defeating the Hoosiers, 38-33 last season in Bloomington and 38-35 the year prior in College Park.

Indiana is 1-2 on the season, narrowly falling to Louisville, 21-14, this past Saturday. The Hoosiers will take on Akron this Saturday.

Maryland travels to Michigan State this Saturday with the Big Ten opener set to kickoff at 3:30 p.m. on NBC.

Full Snap Counts & PFF Grades from Friday night's game

Here are the snap counts and full PFF grades from Friday night's game.

A couple of notes....

- Colby McDonald didn't play enough snaps to be included in my top 5, but he played extremely well in his 14 snaps and should probably move up to the No. 2 spot in the RB pecking order.
- Looking at the o-line, Conor Fagan graded out pretty poorly, while Ayedze graded out pretty well in his 33 snaps. Will be interesting to see how they handle that RT spot moving forward. Also at center, Harris played more snaps and finished with a higher grade than Purcell. Feels like this is Harris' starting job at center heading into conference play.

- On defense, it was Spraggins who finished with the highest grade but did not qualify for the top 5 because he played less than 25% of the snaps. Still, good to see him playing well.
- Donnell Brown with another big game. I have him listed as a DL because that is what the school lists him at and because he lines up alongside the d-linemen. You can argue he's a DL or LB, I'm just going with what the school goes with. Same goes for Riyad Wilmot, who was listed as a starter along the d-line.
- Glen Miller looked good filling in for Beau Brade. He basically doubled his snap count from the first two games on Friday night.
- Kellan Wyatt has quietly put together a strong season so far at the starting JACK spot.

Week 4 Football Rankings

Well, our big win yielded us a whole 3 more points in the AP poll up to 4 now and up to 33rd overall and nobody moved in or out of the Top 25.

On the Coaches side, we gained five more points moving up to 19 points and 32nd overall.

To be honest, I'm having trouble seeing us getting into the rankings now even with a 5-0 start. I can't see beating MSU and Idniannia giving us enough juice to move into the rankings without the teams above us and those in the bottom 5 of the Top 25 all imploding over the next two weeks.

CFB Week 3 open thread

Just figured I’d start a thread to talk about all the relevant games around the country today.

Rutgers just finished waxing Virginia Tech and this could be the beginning of the end for the Hokies recruiting class.

Eric Mensah decommitted last night and announced he was flipping to Ohio State. And then you had Gabe Williams at the Maryland game last night. Could be a very long season in Blacksburg.

Locks and Bwill got snaps from their 3 deep…

in game 3 against a border rival P5 team in what was a close game entering the 4th Q and held them to 14 points vs a really good frosh QB who threw for 377 vs a team they lost to the week before. Yeah, UVA is not going bowling but they weren’t horrible until 4Q. Similar to Charlotte, BWill adjusted. He adjusts well and has depth to work with.

***Virginia Game Thread***

We're about a half hour from kickoff in College Park between the Terps and Cavs.

The big news leading up to this one is the news that Terps leading tackler Beau Brade will not play tonight due to injury. Possibly making matters worse is nickel safety Glendon Miller being listed as questionable, although he has been on the report and played each of the first two weeks. Perhaps we see Miami transfer Avantae Williams for the first time tonight.

Also worth noting that right tackle Gottlieb Ayedze is once again listed as questionable. He didn't not play last week with the same status so it will be interesting to see if he plays tonight.

The Terps will be wearing a Virginia decal on the back of their helmets in honor of the UVA players that were murdered last year.

Virginia predictions

Ok, lets see your predictions for tonight's game.

Based on posts from some of you in the thread about the opening line, it seems quite a few of you think this game is going to be pretty close.

Well, I'm going to totally disagree here and say this game is a blowout.

UVA is coming off of a horrible home loss to JMU, they have uncertainty at QB, an awful o-line and a bad defense (although they do get arguably their best defensive player back from injury tonight after a long time off).

I think with this being the team's second straight game at home, under the lights on national TV, they will be ready to play tonight and are unlikely to have another poor start like last week.

Hemby rushes for over 100 yards, Tagovailoa throws for over 250, the defense comes up big with 3+ sacks and a turnover and the Terps win big to move to 3-0 with Sparty on deck. I like the Terps to cover and I'm gonna go with the over, despite the fact every trend for both these teams says to take the under.

Terps - 38
UVA - 13
