Maryland hosted and then offered four-star big man Cliff Omoruyi yesterday. As Pat wrote a few weeks back, the Maryland staff was trying to get Cliff on campus this month and they were able to do so following the conclusion of Top 100.
Had a chance to get a good look at Cliff this week and while the energy and high motor were there on Thursday, I didn't really see the kind of production I was expecting from him. But he really came on Friday. He had a great game in the early morning, scoring 20 points in a win over a team that featured a frontline of Henry Coleman, Noah Collier (who the Terps are also looking at) and recent WVU pledge Isaiah Cottrell. He also grabbed 5 rebounds and had a pair of blocks in the win. It became immediately evident why he's picked up offers from the likes of Kentucky and Arizona. Plus he's only been playing organized ball for a few years. He's strong, gets after it on the boards, plays hard and almost seeks out contact, which is rare these days. He keeps adding strength and he'll be a load in the paint at the next level. The Terps have a real shot here.
