Was talking to a source this morning and feeling very good about Maryland's chances to land St. John's big man grad transfer Tariq Owens. Bino Ranson leading the charge with this one as the Terps are putting on the full court press. Maryland will be getting a visit. Honestly, I'll be shocked if he doesn't end up at Maryland when it is all said and done. Other finalists include Ohio St., Texas Tech, Oklahoma St. and a few others. Would be a huge get as he's one of the country's best rim protectors. Averaged 8 points, 6 boards and 3 blocks per game this year playing in the Big East.
And speaking of comings and goings in the front court, Bruno Fernando back in Fla. this week for spring break. Will begin some private workouts when he gets back to Maryland. I think that's a good sign he'll be back, but still no definitive decision made yet.
