SPARKS, Md. – The Maryland men’s lacrosse team will scrimmage the United States Men’s Training Team Saturday, Oct. 7, at 6 pm, as announced Tuesday by US Lacrosse.

Tickets are available for $10 each day with proceeds benefitting the U.S. National Teams Program. The scrimmage is part of the 2017 Team USA Fall Classic, which takes places on the weekend of Oct. 7-8 on William G. Tierney Field at US Lacrosse Headquarters.

The defending National Champion Terps return five USILA All-Americans from last season, including midfielder Connor Kelly, who is also a member of Team USA.

In addition to Kelly, the U.S. Training Team includes nine other former Terps – more than any other team. The list includes Jake Bernhardt (’12), current Maryland assistant coach Jesse Bernhardt (’13), Mike Chanenchuk (’14), Michael Ehrhardt (’14), John Haus (’13), Tim Muller (’17), Brian Phipps (’10), Drew Snider (’12) and Joe Walters (’06).

The Fall Classic is one of two training weekends remaining for the U.S. before the final training camp leading into next summer’s FIL Men’s World Championships, which will be held in Netanya, Israel from July 12-21.

The weekend will also include a 9/11 Memorial Game featuring first responders representing the Twin Towers and Pentagon teams.

Since 1967, the U.S. has won the gold or silver medal at every men’s international world championship in field lacrosse. The U.S. won gold in 1967, 1974, 1982, 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2010.

The complete schedule for the weekend:

Sunday, Oct. 8

11:15 am: 9/11 Memorial Game – Pentagon vs. Twin Towers
