Men’s basketball announces 2024-2025 home non-conference schedule

COLLEGE PARK, MD – As the 2024-25 Maryland men's basketball schedule continues to take shape, the Terps have announced the full home portion of their non-conference schedule.

Maryland will play nine home dates during the early season including the previously announced game against Marquette on Friday, Nov. 15 to start a home-and-home series with the Golden Eagles.

The season will officially open on Monday, Nov. 4against Manhattan. The first month of the season will also feature match-ups against Mount St. Mary's (Friday, Nov. 8), Florida A&M (Monday, Nov. 11), Canisius (Tuesday, Nov. 19), and Bucknell (Wednesday, Nov. 27).

The game against Bucknell will officially be part of the Saatva Empire Classic. The Terps will also take on Villanova on Sunday, Nov. 24 as the headline game for the event at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

In December, the Terps will host Alcorn State on Sunday, Dec. 1 before then opening Big Ten play with a pair of games. Maryland will close out non-conference play against St. Francis (Pa.) on Tuesday, Dec. 17 and UMES on Saturday, Dec. 28.

In Big Ten action, Maryland will play home-and-home series with Nebraska, Northwestern, and Ohio State. The Terps will also face Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, Rutgers, Wisconsin and Big Ten newcomers UCLA and USC at home only. The road slate for league play will include Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Penn State, Purdue and conference newcomers Oregon and Washington.

The Terps' returning players are highlighted by rising senior Julian Reese, rising sophomore DeShawn Harris-Smith, and fifth-year senior Jordan Geronimo. Maryland has one of the top incoming transfer classes in the Big Ten: Ja'Kobi Gillespie (Belmont), Selton Miguel (South Florida), Rodney Rice (Virginia Tech) and Tafara Gapare (Georgia Tech). Additionally, the Terps signed five-star McDonald's All-American Derik Queen (Baltimore) and four-star guard Malachi Palmer (Harrisburg, Pa.).

Season tickets for the 2024-25 season are now on sale starting at $199. Maryland Young Alumni (those who graduated within the last five years) receive a 48 percent discount on season tickets, while current Maryland Parents who have a student enrolled for the year are eligible for a 20 percent discount on two season tickets.

Tip-off times and television assignments, as well as dates for Big Ten games, will be announced at a later time. All games will air on the Maryland Sports Radio Network with legendary Voice of the Terps Johnny Holliday calling the action alongside Chris Knoche and Walt Williams.
