COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men’s lacrosse junior defender Curtis Corley has been named Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Terps’ 10-4 win over Navy Saturday.
It marks the first career Big Ten weekly honor for Corley.
Corley was fantastic in No. 2 Maryland’s season-opening win, scooping a ground ball and causing a turnover while stifling Navy’s attack. The Medford Lakes, N.J., native anchored a Terrapin defense that allowed just four goals while holding the Mids scoreless for 25+ minutes during the middle of the game.
Corley and the Terps return to action tonight at 5:00 pm when they host Marist at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. The game will be streamed live on BTN2Go.com.
