Good Counsel's Aaron Chiles, Elijah Moore...

While the official visit headliner last weekend was Good Counsel's Aaron Chiles, the Terps also hosted four-star wideout Elijah Moore again unofficially. The feeling is that Maryland really impressed Chiles, made up some ground and is in a good spot. With all of that said, Michigan still seems the likely destination as of now, even with a visit to Florida scheduled for later this week. You never know with these Good Counsel kids, but Maryland really needed to roll out the red carpet and impress him for starters and it appears they did that.

As for Moore, he continues to be a presence in College Park and the Terps seemed to dodge an initial bullet with him not committing immediately following his official visit to Ohio State. With that said, a top source out in Columbus believes they will still take four wideouts this cycle, Moore is still 100% a take and that the Ohio State staff believes they will get his commitment. I expect the Terps to keep going after Moore as at one point they were the perceived leaders, but Ohio State appears to lead for Moore at this time. He still has one more official this month to Florida State the weekend of the 23rd and could still take an official to Maryland during or after the season, hence why I expect them to keep coming after him hard until he puts pen to paper.

Official Visitor List: June 16

Here is a list of this weekend's official visitors with the skinny on each. A really strong group coming in this weekend. That said, I'm not sure how many commitments I see coming out of this one, other than maybe McMonigle. I could see McLaurin possibly looking to commit, but they might want to hold off there being well positioned with some other top wideouts. Four-star safety Brandon Jacob is kind of the wildcard for me. His interest goes back before Spavital got here and obviously it hasn't waned, as he's officially visiting this weekend. UCF seems like the team to beat as of now, but I could see the Terps making a push into his top spot this weekend. More at the link below.

Athletic Article on current state of MD FB

I am not posting this to change minds, but to read what former & current players, staff, and stakeholders are saying. Some of which I have previously said as well. Great article BTW.

2024 OL to really keep an eye on...

One 2024 OL to really keep an eye on is Pallotti three-star Ryan Howerton. Terps offered back in Jan., but he's absolutely blown up the past month, earning MVP honors at both the UA and Rivals camps, beating out some studs in the process. He's got good size at 6-foot-5, 305-pounds.

As of now, he's got official visits set up to WVU and Pitt next month. Elijah Brooks and Virginia Tech just offered and he's eyeing additional possible visits there as well as Maryland and Ohio State. Obviously, landing him won't be easy, but he's a kid they have been on for quite a while, he's local and he's blown up here lately and should see a likely boost in his ranking next time they are updated.
