COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland head coach Michael Locksley has announced the addition of offensive lineman Isaiah Wright to the Terrapin football program on Tuesday.

Wright, who has two years of eligibility remaining, joins the Terps after starting 24 games on Buffalo’s offensive line the past two seasons. The 6-4, 300 pound lineman started his career at Rutgers before transferring to Buffalo in 2022.

In 2023, Wright started 11 games for the Bulls, including five at left tackle and six at center. The versatile lineman helped Buffalo tie for third in the MAC in fewest sacks allowed this past season.

A North Plainfield, New Jersey native, Wright started all 13 games at left tackle for the Bulls during the 2022 season. He helped block for an offense that ranked in the top five in the conference in scoring offense (28.5), total offense (377.2) and passing offense (235.3).

While at Rutgers, Wright earned Academic All-Big Ten honors. A graduate of St. Peter’s Prep, Wright helped lead the Marauders to an 11-1 record as a senior. He was named Honorable Mention USA Today All-New Jersey on offense in 2019 and helped his team win the 2019 Non-Public Group 4 Championship held at MetLife Stadium.

The Terps have secured their first commitment of the 2026 class from St. Frances three-star DB Khmari Bing. He had a slew of other big-time offers, including Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Penn State and Tennessee.

Not much in Rivals on him, DE from FL (we all know what you are going to say about FL kids).

Year 6 is upon us, and I guess what your guess, is as good as mine.


1. WIN-H vs. UCONN-Do the Terps play this close, or act like a B1G team against wherever they play now? My guess is although the score might be relatively close the stats won't be. Terps 30 UCONN 13.

2. WIN-H vs. MSU-Although MSU may have some talent, they have been up and down. Terp D allows the Terp O to score more easily. Terps 37 MSU 20,
but not that close.

3. WIN-A vs. UVA-This B1G team manhandles the Cavs. Terps take over midway 2H and its not that close. Terps 41 UVA 23.

4. WIN-H vs. Villanova-Solid Vill team that can't hang with this B1G team that will be really finding its grove and confidence. Terps 44 Vill. 17.
Terps D smothers these cats.

5. WIN-A vs. Indiana-A trap game maybe, but a game the Terps NEED to win. They have a new coach who is solid, a lot of transfers, and a new beginning. Don't care, this Terps D keeps the O in the game. Terps 37 IND 20.

6. WIN-H vs. NW. A true trap game but the Wildcats eat too much of the peanut butter without scoring enough. Finally, the Terps will not overlook these guys and take care of business. Terps 31 NW 20.

7. WIN-H vs. USC-The place will be packed, and USC will feel the jet lag. If USC comes in limping, then the Terp D will show them the door. This is a MUST win for the program, a true eye opener for recruiting. Terps 27 USC 20.

8. WIN-A vs. Minnesota. Do the Terps have a major league letdown? Game goes back and forth against a real solid coach but win in the 4Q.

9. LOSS-A- vs. Oregon. The wheels finally come off but not until the 2H. Too much talent for the Terps to handle. Big game in big time slot.
Oregon 30 Terps 20.

10. WIN-H vs. Rutgers. Terps pissed off and will piss on the Knights. Lots to play for. Terps 38 Rutgers 20.

11. WIN-H- vs. Iowa. Terps hire the other teams former OC. What? Does this help us? Iowa always solid but Terp O along with a steady D win a close game. Terps 24 Iowa 23.

12. WIN-A-PSU. The PSU fans will have no idea what happened to their team, and neither will the Lions. Terp D will lead the way, with the O being solid and methodical. Terps 27 PSU 20.

Yep, I'm going to be an optimist. In the 4Q of life I'm going against all the so-called experts and all the hype of other teams and players. The D will be the major factor along with a better-than-expected OL. Having 3 OL coaches will make a difference now and in the future.

DALLAS, TX -- Redshirt junior running back Roman Hemby has been named one of the preseason candidates for the 2024 Doak Walker Award, announced today, August 6th. The award is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding college running back.

Hemby has received All-Big Ten honors each of the last two seasons. The Edgewood, MD native has 347 career carries for 1,740 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns. A versatile back, Hemby also has 72 career receptions for 648 yards and four scores.

The redshirt junior has rushed for over 100 yards in six different games throughout his career. In 2022, Hemby stood third among all FBS freshmen in yards from scrimmage (1,287) and had the second-most rushing touchdowns ever by a Maryland freshman (10).

Hemby was also named a preseason candidate for the Doak Walker Award in 2023.

The PwC SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors will name ten semifinalists in November, and three finalists, as voted on by the Doak Walker Award National Selection Committee, will also be announced in November. The committee will cast a second vote in December to determine the recipient. The National Selection Committee consists of past recipients, former NFL All-Pro and college All-America running backs, media members and selected special representatives. The recipient of the 2024 Doak Walker Award will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 12, 2024.

From the West Coast to the East Coast. Now the question is how much longer will we have to wait before the map starts going south into Virginia, North Carolina and possibly Florida?

Rivals250 four-star OL Jaylen Gilchrist has committed to Maryland. He becomes the Terps' 6th four-star and second Rivals250 commit in the class.

HUGE addition for Locks & Co. and as I mentioned a little earlier, I think this should kick start the 2026 class here in the coming hours/days.

Hearing the Terps could be close to landing their first football commit for 2026, possibly in the next couple of days.

St. Frances CB Khmari Bing is apparently close to pulling the trigger. His offer sheet already includes the likes of Maryland, Auburn, Boston College, Florida, Miami, Michigan, Penn St., Tennessee and Virginia Tech. He's got good size at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds. Would be nice to see the Terps start the 26 class with a St. Frances kid that has a strong offer sheet. As I mentioned a few days ago, momentum has been building and was just a matter of time before it carried over to 26.

The class includes Lonny Baxter (men’s basketball), Patty Corson Robbins (women’s swimming), Jill Fisher-Galli (gymnastics), Patrick Mullins (men’s soccer), Katie Schwarzmann (women’s lacrosse), Alyssa Thomas (women’s basketball), Autumn Welsh Kelly (field hockey) and Lee Zink (men’s lacrosse).
