Congrats to Lox, the Staff, and the Team

Eight wins including a bowl victory, a win against a favorite, albeit a slim one, and beating a team with a winning record well over .500.

That is progress.

The defense came to play when it mattered and stopped their running game cold.

The offense did just enough to keep our nose in front, despite some apparent stupid off-field player decisions and the exodus of certain important players.

Well done Chad Ryland, except for that 1 kickoff ...

Regardless of all the challenges, Locksley and the staff rose up and kept it all together and overcame all the obstacles.

Great day to be a Terp, thank you!

Where do we go from here, is it TBIA or is that our limit?

Next year, year 5, will tell us all, but to break that ceiling, we MUST upgrade our player's level of ability.

Think about it, THIRD PLACE in the East is playing in the Rose Bowl. Can Locksley take that next step? I personally doubt it, but, sure as shit, I hope I am wrong.

The jury is out, what will be their verdict in 2023?

Until then, congratulations to the Terps for a hard-fought, well-deserved win and a little giddy-up in our step this morning!

Now go get Harbor and others!

We're about a half hour from kickoff between the Terps and Wuffies and the cat appears to now be out of the bag, as Taulia Tagovailoa will not start today due to disciplinary reasons. Billy Edwards will get the start, although Tagovailoa is expected to play, per team spokesperson. It is also worth noting that Tagovailoa has been warming up and is dressed for today's game.

From what I am hearing, there could be some other guys out of the starting lineup today as well, although still can't 100% confirm that yet. If there are other starters benched, hopefully it is just for a quarter or half and they won't have to sit for the entire game.

True freshman QB MJ Morris is warming up pregame and is expected to play today, along with Ben Finley who started the final two games of the season. A lot of question marks for both offenses leading right up to kickoff.

One area where NC State seems to have an advantage is with their defense. They have one of the top run defenses in the country, they like to blitz and they have DBs capable of making plays and creating turnovers. If they can get to either of Maryland's QBs early in the game, it could play a factor in how they react the rest of the game. Maryland will also need some of the younger receivers like Tai Felton and Octavian Smith to step up with guys like Jarrett, Copeland and Dippre not playing today.

Terps are wearing white uniforms with white pants.

Wow. Willard…

Willard seriously criticized the B1G in an article posted on 247. Good for him. He takes issue with the schedule-making and points out that perhaps the B1G hasn’t won a title since 2000 because they don’t take care of their teams in that way. He’s a bit pissed that 5 of the first 7 conference games are on the road and replete with 9pm tips. Included in this years schedule is a 6 games in 11 days run. He says perhaps they said F Maryland (my words) because we were picked 10th. Dude has more balls than Turge and his last 3 generations of male ancestors combined. Doesn’t want to schedule easy but sensibly.

Craig Beaudion II (6-foot-3, Senior, G) - Averaging 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds and a team-high 3.1 assists through 13 games.

Jarvis Doles (6-foot-8, Senior, F/C) - Averaging 9.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Maryland
Jahmir Young (6-foot-1, Senior, PG) - Averaging a team-high 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists through 12 games.
Ian Martinez (6-foot-3, Junior, SG) - Averaging 7.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
Hakim Hart (6-foot-8, Senior, G/F) - Averaging 12.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game.
Donta Scott (6-foot-8, Senior, F) - Averaging 13.4 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists through 12 games.
Julian Reese (6-foot-9, Soph., F) - Averaging 11.2 points and a team-high 7.2 rebounds per game.

The Terps enter Thursday night's game coming off of an easy 75-45 win over Saint Peter's a week ago that snapped a three-game losing skid. The Terps saw a shakeup in the lineup last Thursday, as Ian Martinez got his first start of the season at shooting guard, replacing senior Georgetown transfer Don Carey. Martinez finished with 7 points, 3 rebounds an assist and a block in the win.

The other big shakeup in the starting lineup was Patrick Emilien replacing leading rebounder Julian Reese, who was nursing a shoulder injury suffered during the first half of the Terps' loss to UCLA. Head coach Kevin Willard declined to give an update on the status of Reese heading into the UMBC game, but it wouldn't be surprising if he took the night off once again in order to make sure he's 100 percent healthy New Year's Day when the Terps face Michigan in Ann Arbor. Emilien was solid in Reese's place versus Saint Peter's, finishing with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 3 blocks in the win. If Reese is to miss his second straight game, look for Emilien to get the start once again with Noah Batchelor and Caelum Swanton-Rodger both getting extended minutes in the front court.

The Terps should have a chance to get it going shooting the ball from behind the arc versus a Retrievers team that has allowed their opponents to shoot 40.8 percent from three-point land. Only four teams nationally have allowed their opponents to shoot a higher percentage from three than UMBC.

The biggest thing for Maryland is to come out of this game healthy and with some momentum as things will get ratcheted up a notch New Year's Day when they face the Wolverines.
