Why pay for parking?

This is the second year in a row where someone has parked in my spot in the Stadium Garage to start the season. I go to the West Gate’s services window and mention this is the second time in two seasons where someone has done this and I mention to them I want the person who parked in my spot towed out.

I ask when the tow truck will get there and the person doesn’t commit. They then offer me another spot half way up the ramp.

Meanwhile, the UConn weeny who parked there was still in the space when I left at game’s end. What’s really crazy is if I had parked in front of him to officially block him in so he couldn’t leave, it would’ve been me who had my car towed and me who would’ve had to pay the fine.

So with all this nonsense which is sooooooo easy to fix, do any of you have an idea who I can call on Tuesday morning to voice my concerns?

McFerson named to Ray Guy Award Ray’s 8 of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Redshirt sophomore punter Bryce McFerson was named among the Ray Guy Award Ray's 8 of the Week, given to the nation's top eight punters of the week.

McFerson excelled in his Maryland debut, helping the Terps to a 50-7 victory over UConn in the season opener. McFerson placed five of his six punts inside the 20-yard line. The Notre Dame transfer racked up a total of 269 punting yards (44.8 yards per punt) across his six attempts, including a career-long punt of 64 yards.

Ray's 8 honors eight punters weekly who had the best punting performance over the weekend. A fan vote will determine the winner of the weekly award. Fans can vote at rayguyaward.com

The Ray Guy Award winner is selected by a voting body of Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) sports information directors, national media and former Ray Guy Award winners. Punters are evaluated on their overall statistics and contribution to the team. Particular emphasis is placed on the following statistics; net average, percentage of total punts inside the 20-yard line and percentage of punts not returned.

I like Billy!…

He definitely looked like he belongs today. He managed things well. He threw darts and he ran well. No more slides. Finish runs quickly and/ or get out of bounds.

Team is very fast. They played 72 guys today. The RB room is deep. The WR’s are elite. The OL was pretty good. The D gave up 7 points playing vanilla D. Yes, it was UCONN. They’re ahead of last year at this time.

Billy’s defensive test gets a bit harder vs MSU. Looking forward to it. One poster here called it 14-13 today because Billy was starting. Somebody tell brown shorts Billy > CJ. Billy actually can throw.

Women's Lacrosse

Just saw the list for the top high school players in the class of 2026, and the Number 1 player has a familiar name. Here's hoping she stay at home. Commits for the class of 2026 for men and women's lacrosse will start next week.

Coach Reese should get at least 2 of those top ten players.

***UConn Game Thread***

We're a little over an hour from kickoff between the Terps and Huskies. This is a game Maryland should be able to win going away and will likely need to if they want to get a lot of guys reps heading into next weekend's Big Ten opener.

Guys I'm most looking forward to seeing today include all of the QBs, the entire o-line, Nolan Ray, Caleb Wheatland and Jalen Huskey. I think Wheatland has the opportunity to become a household name this season and expectations are high for Huskey. Obviously want to see if Ray lives up to the hype, also.

My prediction for today is Terps - 34, UConn - 13

Week 1 Game notes have been released

UConn game notes have been released ahead of today’s first in-season press conference with Locksley.

As expected, no depth chart and we will almost certainly be left guessing as to who the starting QB will be up to Saturday morning.

With that said, I think it is likely we will see Billy Edwards Jr. as the starter with MJ Morris seeing plenty of reps. My guess is this competition won’t be settled until they are several games in.

We’ll see what Locks has to say later this afternoon.
