Potential local visitor June 23rd

The weekend of June 23rd is shaping up like it will be a big recruiting weekend for the football program, as they are set to host some big targets and will also have their big man camp that weekend.

One interesting development I just heard about is that DeMatha 2024 OT Terez Davis could possibly end up visiting Maryland that weekend instead of Virginia Tech, where he's currently scheduled to visit. As things stand now, he'll take an official visit to Georgia Tech the weekend of June 9, Syracuse the following weekend and could now be taking an official visit to Maryland the weekend of the 23rd instead of Virginia Tech. This would be a very big development and likely put the Terps right in the thick of things to land a commitment from him. Pitt is the other school in the mix. Should know if the Terps were able to secure that visit soon.

On The Good News Side

"Win twice or go home. The Terps haven’t been eliminated yet, but they need to run the table to make it to a super regional. First up is a matchup with local foe George Mason, which took down Northeastern, 11-3, on Saturday. The winner of that game earns a rematch with the Demon Deacons later in the day, and if they win that matchup, an additional winner-take-all game will be played Monday. The Terps have also burned through both of their aces, and freshman left-handed pitcher Kyle: McCoy is unavailable this weekend."

At least they won't play 3rd until Monday...

Men's basketball will host...

Men's basketball will host Coppin St. next year as part of the non-conference slate on Thursday, Dec. 28 according to Rocco Miller.

This will be the second straight year the Terps have hosted the Eagles, although Maryland legend Juan Dixon won't be on the sidelines next season as former Kevin Broadus assistant at Morgan State and CSU alum Larry Stewart is now heading the program.

Safety Tips for a Desert Adventure

When adventuring in the desert, it is important to be aware of the environment and take precautions to stay safe. Here are some safety tips to keep in mind when exploring the desert:

Wear appropriate clothing: Lightweight, loose-fitting clothing will help protect you from the sun and heat. Wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your face, and consider applying sunscreen as well. Drink plenty of water: It is important to stay hydrated when exploring the desert. Be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Watch for signs of heat exhaustion or dehydration, such as headache, dizziness, or nausea. Stay on designated trails: When hiking or driving in the desert, stick to established trails to avoid getting lost. If you do get lost, stay calm and wait for rescuers to find you. Be aware of wildlife: The desert is home to many different types of animals, including snakes and scorpions. Do not approach or disturb wildlife, and be sure to watch for signs of their presence. Be prepared for emergencies: Pack a first-aid kit and make sure you have a working cellphone with you in case of an emergency. Let someone know your plans: Before heading out into the desert, let someone else know where you are going and when you expect to return. This way they can call for help if you don’t return as expected.

Terps hosting football official visitor...

Maryland is hosting Coffeyville CC offensive lineman Kevin Kalonji today.

If the name sounds familiar, he attended The Avalon School and was rated a three-star DT prospect by Rivals coming out of high school with a laundry list of P5 offers.

He's originally from the Congo and has only played organized football for a handful of years. He has excellent size at 6-foot-6, 330-pounds and could end up being a really solid find. He is coming off of an official visit to Houston and as of now, this is his last visit. It is possible he could take another OV or two, but Maryland has a chance to wrap this one up.
