Since the W-Soccer Team is doing so well, I thought we should catch up on the recruiting trail.
Brian Pensky has a 2011 commitment from Cory Ryan of Norwood, MA who plays club for Scorpions SC, is a Region 1 ODP select, plays forward or midfield. Also a track long sprinter who finished 4th in Massachusetts State 200 meter championship in large school class.
She is one of three New Englanders on the ESPN Rise All-Northeast list headed to Maryland. The others include forward Alex Doody of Framingham, MA/Framingham, and forward Amanda Gerlitz of Hollis, NH/Hollis Brookline.
And Pensky has the best player in the state due to arrive in 2012: Ashley Spivey of McDonough, the two-time Baltimore Sun All-Met and a member of the US U-17 National Team, described by the Baltimore Sun as "the area's most skilled and dynamic player". She is listed as a central midfielder, but frankly, can play anywhere -- had 45 career goals entering this season. Spivey may be the most gifted player that Pensky has recruited since his tenure began in 2005.
