and deservedly so. This is the NSCAA poll, btw. The Terps are loaded this year. Graduation losses were relatively light and they have 5 of 6 top scorers returning from last year, plus they still have Yewande Balogun in goal, and a solid backline with Skyy Anderson, Mallory Baker, and Lydia Hastings who has been converted from flank midfield to marking back.
This also has to be the deepest team the program has ever had. You can go back through the teams that Shannon Higgins Cirovski, Alan Kirkup, and April Heinrichs had and you won't find this many players on the roster that are legit candidates for PT. They have to replace Caitlin McDowell, Molly Dreska, and Colleen Deeganm but there are so many players in the mix now that I have to wonder how much time the freshmen will be able to get. In past years, freshmen often had to play because of the persistent injury situation; now Brian Pensky can take time to develop them. This is going to be fun.
