Today was spring practice No. 13 and we have our first quarterback injury news of the year. The big takeaway from today's limited observation time at practice is that Terps junior quarterback Tyrrell Pigrome was see on a stationary bike not going through drills with the rest of Maryland's passers. With just days before the spring game, it remains unseen whether or not Piggy will be ready for Saturday. We'll try and get some answers after practice when we speak to Locksley.

Other than that, here are some other notes from today's practice:

  • Pigrome always wears a yellow non-contact jersey but today was one of the new additions to the group of Terps wearing yellow and not fully practicing. Brett Kulka, Andrew Park, Darryl Jones, and Chris Jones were relegated to light strength and conditioning work away from the action. Pigrome, Terrance Davis, and Jordan Mosley--another new addition to the yellow jersey list--were all seen riding stationary bikes during the portion of practice that was open. Marcus Minor is in a yellow jersey but still doing position drills with the O-line, just lightly. Same deal goes for MJ Jarrell, Rayshad Lewis, Lorenzo Harrison, and Kenny Bennett.
  • Speaking of Rayshad Lewis, he has a heavy wrapping/cast on his right wrist but he is still catching passes with the receivers and I even saw him make a few nice grabs today. Going to try and get more info on his injury from Locks today.
  • Sticking with the WRs, sophomore wideout Dontay Demus looks the part and could continue his strong finish last year into a breakout year in the fall. He has size, speed, seems to catch everything that's thrown his way, and just simply looks like a matchup problem for any defense. I'm interested to see how he and Jeshaun Jones look on Saturday, however, we might have to temper expectations considering the crop of QBs in camp right now. Sophomore Brian Cobbs is another wideout who looks good and could be in for some big things.
  • Finally, not a ton of HS recruits or coaches at practice today. There were a handful but the only one I got close enough to to see was Shawnee (Medford, NJ) 2020 OT Beau Lanzidelle.
