Spring practice No. 11 is in the books and we'll be talking to Terps RB Javon Leak as well as CB Marcus Lewis after practice today.

Kind of an eventful day today, despite only getting to see about 15 minutes of action. Here are some notes from today's practice:

  • What made today such an eventful day was the number of recruits and coaches on campus to watch practice. It was a sea of HS players and coaches at practice today. Imhotep Charter brought its entire team down from Philly. That is a loaded squad with plenty of prospects Maryland will be keeping tabs on. Offensive line coach John Reagan is a Philly guy, so perhaps he can make inroads there.
  • Another school that is loaded with talent and had players at practice today was Deerfield Beach from down in Florida. Deerfield brought a select group up with them, highlighted by 3-star 2020 WRs Deajuan McDougle, who I had the pleasure of meeting briefly, and Xavier Restrepo, as well as four-star 2020 WR Aydin Henningham and 2021 WR Phillip O'Brien, who already holds offers such as Georgia, Auburn, Kentucky, and South Carolina.
  • Terps have already offered Damascus 2021 OL Ryan Linthicum, who was also spotted at practice today. Heard him tell a coach that he played OG last season for Damascus but will likely be playing OT next fall.
  • Other high schools that had coaches and players at practice today include Richard Montgomery, Largo, St. Charles, DeMatha, Oxon Hill, Westlake, Middletown, and Clarksburg. St. Frances 2020 OT Ja'khi Green was also supposedly at practice today and I believe I saw him from a distance standing on the field and talking to coaches.
  • Terps alum Shawn Petty was observing practice today. He has been to a few practices this spring.
  • Johnny Jordan was spotted wearing a yellow non-contact jersey, as was Cam Spence, Fa'Naje Gotay, and Rayshad Lewis, who still have a heavily wrapped wrist. Still no Terrance Davis spotted on the field today as he works his way back from an ankle injury.
  • Team is set to scrimmage on Saturday. Scrimmage will be closed to the media but we will get Locksley afterwards.
