In talking to a few additional sources directly involved in Ben Stanley's recruitment yesterday, it sounds like Maryland is the team to beat, assuming everyone feels comfortable he is able to get a waiver to play next season. As Russ said in yesterday's thread on Stanley, Maryland sources were not overly confident about their chances to get a waiver for next season, but that info came literally just before Hampton's announcement about suspending fall sports. In talking to a few sources later in the day, from what I can gather, the belief among most seems to be that if everyone is confident he can get that waiver, Maryland is likely to be the pick. Xavier seems to be the Terps' biggest competition and has done a good job recruiting him, but the chance to come home and play at Maryland might be too good of an opportunity to pass up. As far as Hampton goes, I just can't see him going back at this point. The school has already announced that students won't be allowed back on campus at all this fall and used very strong language that campus could very well be closed again in the spring. And with them already going rogue and cancelling sports ahead of any decision from their conference, who's to say they wont do it again come Nov/Dec.? I just don't see any scenario where he goes back to Hampton.
As far as a decision goes, don't be surprised if it comes rather soon here.
