Maryland Basketball Recruiting Scoop: Terps share high interest with elite specialist in transfer portal

Earlier today, I reported that Maryland is interested in Drexel transfer Yame Butler. Shortly thereafter, a source close to the situation reached out with more info: they like Butler, but they're more seriously interested in fellow Drexel transfer Kobe Magee.
"Seems like they'd like to get that done," a source said.
It makes sense that Magee appears to be higher on their list. They need a replacement for Selton Miguel as a three-point shooting wing guard, and he's an elite shooter.
Via the Philadelphia Inquirer:
"In his third year at Drexel, MaGee evolved from a role player off the bench to a centerpiece of Drexel's starting five. MaGee asserted himself as one of the top three-point shooters in the nation. The Allentown native averaged 14 points and 5.6 rebounds on 43.9% three-point shooting and collected All-CAA third team honors this season.
MaGee and Butler are the latest testaments to Drexel's ability to develop and get the most out of players before they seek higher-profile and perhaps more financially lucrative opportunities elsewhere."
I wouldn't cross off Butler, but it sounds like Magee will be a higher-ranking priority. And he's highly interested in Maryland.
Butler could fit the Miguel role perfectly. He was in the 97th percentile nationally on catch-and-shoot threes and the 89th percentile as a spot-up shooter. I'm told he's planning to visit Maryland after the season ends. Stay tuned.
