COLLEGE PARK, MD - With the 2023-24 Maryland men's basketball season just over a month away from starting, the Big Ten Conference announced today its league-wide television assignments as well as tip-off times.
In addition to coverage by the Big Ten Network and FS1, four games will be carried nationally on CBS and FOX, while both games at the Asheville Championship Tournament will be on the ESPN family of networks. Two Maryland games will also appear on Peacock, while two others will be streamed on B1G+.
The season will begin on Tuesday, Nov. 7 as the Terps host Mount St. Mary's for a 7 PM tip on BTN+.
Maryland will appear twice on CBS this season, both home games, against Michigan State (Jan. 21, 12 PM) and against Indiana (March 3, 2 PM). The Terps will also have two games on FOX – at Michigan State on Feb. 3 (5:30 or 8 PM) and at home against Illinois on Feb. 17 (5:30 PM). With three games from the XFINITY Center on CBS and FOX, Maryland has the second-most home nationally televised games in the league behind Michigan State (4).
The Terps will receive major national exposure for both its basketball teams on Feb. 3 as the women's team will also appear on FOX when it hosts Iowa at the XFINITY Center.
The Asheville Championship Tournament will be held Nov. 10-12 in Asheville, N.C. Maryland's opening game against Davidson will be carried on ESPNU starting at 7 PM, while the Terps will then take on either Clemson or UAB on Sunday on ESPN2 (12:30 or 3 PM).
The Gavitt Tip-Off Game at Villanova will be carried on FS1 (8:30 PM) on Nov. 17, while the time and television assignment for the game at UCLA on Dec. 22 is still yet to be announced.
The Terps will also have three games on FS1 with all other games on BTN except for Rider on Nov. 28 which will be carried on B1G+.

Eight teams on the upcoming schedule made the NCAA Tournament highlighted by UCLA and Michigan State both reaching the Sweet Sixteen. Seven teams on the docket played in the NIT with Wisconsin reaching the semifinals and UAB narrowly falling in the championship game.

The Terps return the bulk of its top performers from 2022-23 led by All-Big Ten selection and preseason All-American honoree Jahmir Young as well as fifth-year senior Donta Scott and Julian Reese who will be one of the top post players in the league this season. Additionally, the Terps have brought in the No. 15 recruiting class in the country paced by DeShawn Harris-Smith, Jaime Kaiser, and Jahnathan Lamothe, while adding redshirt junior forward Jordan Geronimo who played three seasons at Indiana.
