Maryland adds to strong 2020 recruiting class

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – University of Maryland Head Coach Michael Locksley announced three additions to the Terrapins 2020 signing class as offensive lineman Amelio Moran, defensive back Osita Smith and defensive tackle Almosse Titi have each signed a national letter of intent to play football for the Terps.

The trio joins the 23 student-athletes that inked NLI's during the early signing period in December to make up the Terps 2020 class, which currently ranks as high as No. 29 nationally according to Rivals.

The 26 student-athletes hail from 13 different states. Eight signees are from Florida, while five are from Maryland and two each from Texas and New Jersey. The Terps added 11 players on offense (6 offensive linemen, 3 wide receivers, 2 running backs) and 15 players on defense (7 defensive backs, 5 defensive linemen and 3 linebackers).

Eleven signees have already enrolled in school and will participate in spring practice – Jakorian Bennett, Beau Brade, Johari Branch, Frankie Burgess, Ja’Khi Green, Ruben Hyppolite II, TJ Kauti, Devyn King, DeaJuan McDougle, Shane Mosley and Osita Smith.

Osita Smith

  • Sixth ranked player in Maryland; 24th ranked safety in America
  • Played in 2018 Maryland Crab Bowl
  • In senior season at Wilde Lake HS, tallied 26 receptions for 467 yards and 11 touchdowns
  • Chose Maryland over West Virginia


Almosse Titi

  • Seventh-best defensive tackle prospect in junior college per 247sports
  • Finished with 27 tackles and 2.5 sacks in 11 games last year for Iowa Western CC

  • Fifth defensive lineman in Maryland’s class
