Caught up with Billy Preston down here in Charlotte and he had plenty to say about the Terps. He was aware that Dustin Clark has been trying to reach him, but with all the traveling he's been doing--Charlottesville to Santa Monica to Charlotte--in recent weeks, he hasn't had a chance to call him back, but assured me he will. He also wants to touch base with Diamond Stone and seems pretty wide open right now as to where he may end up going to school.
Like we've mentioned before, he's the 2017 main target for most of the Big-12 and PAC-12 schools and Maryland seems to be the outlier in his recruitment, as far as geography goes. And whether it's in a good way or bad way, that is something that could help separate the Terps from the rest of the pack. However, Preston has been traveling and moving around his whole life for basketball and said location is pretty far down on his list of criteria for a school at the next level.
All I know, after watching Cowan and Preston play together all week, the staff needs to go ALL IN here and get this kid in a Maryland uniform.
