Did you know that Tom McMillen (1970), Moses Malone (1974) & Albert King (1977) were all Mr. Basketball USA's (national high school players of the year)? McMillen beat out Bill Walton and Albert King beat out Magic Johnson & Gene Banks. Lefty was a recruiting machine! Stumbled on this when I was looking at Adrian Dantley's bio (he won in 1973)--there was a news piece on Dantley last night on how he gives back to the DC community as a crossing guard and basketball official. Was Maryland ever in the running for Dantley being that he played for Morgan Wootten at DeMatha? Anyone know the back story there?
