I have wondered that for years and have no answer. The only thing I can think is that they were all private school kids who ended up at private school colleges with bigtime academic reps. A bit sad because Maryland has improved so much academically and is now so difficult to get into, but that has been the family pattern: Georgetown, UVA, JHU, etc etc. I doubt there is any problems with the Maryland coaches. Cathy Reese is an instate gal who has improved the Baltimore area recruiting; Tillman obviously has no problems recruiting at all, so this is still somewhat of a mystery to me.
