What we DO know:

1. A student athlete, Jordan McNair, died after a football practice session;
2. Allegations of neglect, even brutality have been leveled; and
3. At least one investigation is underway and more may come.

What we do NOT know:

1. Who is at fault, insofar as acting inappropriately or illegally; and
2. What penalties should be levied and against whom.

Everyone, including the University community, the public, and the press, needs to chill and let the facts be identified. Without the facts being clear, nothing good can come of supposition, finger pointing, and argument. It is pointless and can lead to nothing good.
