On Craddock, says it's rare to have a kicker as a leader, but he's a different kind of guy. Says leadership is lacking in general in society. Sees it going that way over his years coaching. Brad told coach he was going to take charge of the leadership council. Had his own list of guys he thought should be on it. Says they compared lists and had 8 of 10 they agreed on. Says Brad made himself what he did, didn't go back to just being a punter. Says players have a lot of respect for him.
Says he asked CJ Brown last year what he thought the team needed to do to keep improving and says CJ told him to keep doing what he's doing.
On Wes Brown, says he's done a good job and that he's matured so much. says he and Brandon Ross are the two guys and they'll see how it plays out. Says you always need two guys and who gets the bulk of the carries will be determined during camp. Says Brown's maturation should lead to success on the field.
Says he hurts for Taivon Jacobs because he works so hard. Says he's been dying to get out and contribute and says he's worked really hard to get back. He's on the leadership council for the WR group. Says he just wants him to stay healthy and have a big season. They are going to be smart and monitor his reps with him being a small guy.
On Ngakoue's progression, says all they really did was put his hand in the dirt and give him more of a chance to be an explosive pass rusher. Another member of the leadership council. Says Yannick sought out Craddock about how he can improve, including diet, off the field prep, etc.
Says 4-3 will take more advantage of strengths on defense and allow guys to make plays.
Says the teams goal is to be No. 1 in the B1G. Says it took Michigan St. time to get where they are under Dantonio. Says they are getting the facilities they need to keep improving. Says you want to be in the top half of your division every year and compete for the top spot from there.
