Well, it's finally here, the first day of the new early signing period, which runs from today until Friday.
I'm expecting most of Maryland's current 22 commits to be signed by the end of the day today. The lone holdout is expected to be the Terps' highest rated commit, Noah Boykin.
Despite OL coach Tyler Bowen moving on, the Terps were still able to hold onto all of their O-line commits, which is important as they continue to build depth along the line.
The Terps picked up a commitment from Fort Myers (Fla.) three-star LB Fa'najae Gotay yesterday and as I reported last week, are expected to pick up one more commitment here during the early period in fellow Fort Myers three-star Jeshaun Jones. He's committing this afternoon and is expected to sign and enroll early.
There won't be a whole lot of drama for the Terps heading into Feb., but the two names we will be watching would be the two highest rated commits of the class. They would be H.D. Woodson teammates Noah Boykin and Mychale Salahuddin.
Salahuddin, a four-star RB, is the No. 117-ranked prospect in the country. He would be the Terps' lone 5.9 rated prospect.
