Before citing the latest projections for ESPN and CBS, let me mention that Jerry Palm of CBS wrote a companion column on how the Selection Committee stresses geography in their top seeds (e.g., why Palm has had Kentucky and Wisconsin in the same region for weeks now) as opposed to putting the weakest #2 seed with the strongest #1 seed. Joe Lunardi of ESPN has the same two teams together in the Midwest, so perhaps he agrees.

If Villanova goes West and displaces Gonzaga geographically, I would think the Zags would go to UK's region and Wisconsin would go to the South. The two writers have 15 of the same teams in their top 16s, and that may not change much. Some committees make a big deal of conference tournaments, while others almost ignore them (as in 2002 when Maryland and Kansas both lost in their tournaments, but got #1 seeds - some say Maryland was the top seed overall, though they weren't announced back then).

ESPN
East - Virginia, Kansas, Maryland, N. Iowa
South - Duke, Gonzaga, Utah, Oklahoma
Midwest - UK, Wisconsin, Iowa St., Wichita St.
West - Villanova, Arizona, Notre Dame, Baylor

CBS
East - Virginia, Kansas, Maryland, Arkansas
South - Duke, Gonzaga, Baylor, N. Iowa
Midwest - UK, Wisconsin, Iowa St., Wichita St.
West - Villanova, Arizona, Notre Dame, Oklahoma
