- This team didn't quit. When they got down 17 they easily could have folded, especially with so many young guys playing in their first big game. But they battled back and cut the lead all the way back down to 4 before UVA held on at the end. This is a good sign moving forward.

- This team can score. Even with all of the early misses from three and the missed free throws, they put up 71 against the best defensive team in the country. To put it into perspective, only one team scored in the 70's against UVA last season and that was UMBC in the first round playing the game of their lives. Even in their road loss to WVU they only gave up 68 points.

Coming into tonight's game, opponents were averaging just 49.3 points per game against UVA. And that includes games with Dayton and Wisconsin.

- This team is going to go as far as Bruno Fernando and Anthony Cowan can carry them. Fernando did his part with his third double-double of the season, but the Terps need to get more from Cowan moving forward. It feels like he's been pressing during the early part of the season and definitely against UVA. He just needs to let the game come to him a little more and trust his teammates.

- Positive takeaways aside, Saturday is huge. The Big Ten is looking much tougher than expected this season and the Terps need to come away with a win at home over PSU to open league play 1-0. The schedule doesn't get much easier from here on out and there is little room for error this season.
