Maryland football got a Saturday commitment during its first big official visit weekend, adding local tight end Brayden Marko to the Terps' 2026 recruiting class.

Marko, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight end from nearby Gonzaga College High School (D.C.). "[Getting the offer] was everything I've dreamed of after always watching Maryland on TV."

The first-team All-WCAC product provides great size and a prototypical frame at tight end with the ability to block and catch passes.

• Big Ten No. 5 Iowa Hawkeyes vs. SEC No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide

Obviously in our current state we'd be extremely lucky to get the B1G #8 seed (would likely need to post our first ever winning record in B1G play to get that high) just to be cannon fodder for the SEC #1 seed.

But the reason why I don't ever see this happening is because the lower seeded SEC schools aren't going to have much fun traveling North to get frozen and blown out while a school like Michigan having to travel south wouldn't be intimidated by an atmosphere in Athens, GA. That Iowa-Alabama game would be a pretty good fight to watch but the SEC teams potentially not winning at least half of these games (under this scenario from last year, they lose all the road games and have two home games that are true coin flips) is probably why they'll never agree to it.
