With it now being a week since Mike Locksley was officially named Maryland head football coach, things are really beginning to heat up, both with regards to the staff and recruiting. Here is the latest...

- Locksley wasn't the only football coach at last night's basketball game versus Loyola. Also spotted by TSR was former Rutgers CB coach Cory Robinson, Alabama offensive analyst Butch Jones and recruiting coordinator Marcus Berry.

With regards to Butch Jones, he and Locksley have formed a strong friendship during their time together at Alabama and Butch Jones has remained in College Park this week supporting his good friend. That said, we are still told that as of now, no agreement has been reached between Maryland/Locksley and Jones. Again, a deal could be imminent to bring Jones on as associate head coach, but as of this moment, a deal is yet to be struck.

Marcus Berry was actually working during the basketball game (We'll have more on that below).

- After all of the speculation about DeMatha's Elijah Brooks, he is set to address his team in Hyattsville a little later today and let them know that he has agreed to join Mike Locksley's staff in College Park as running backs coach, multiple sources have told TSR.

Brooks was close to taking a job on Durkin's staff at Maryland last year, but in the end decided to stay at the local WCAC power. But the chance to coach his former protege Anthony McFarland and work with Mike Locklsey just proved to be too much in the end.

Sources have also told TSR that former Terp and Redskin Josh Wilson is likely to replace Brooks as DeMatha's next head coach. With Brooks on board in College Park and former Terp Josh Wilson likely taking over in Hyattsville, the Terps-DeMatha pipeline should continue to flow for years to come.

- With Brooks expected to address his team later today, Florida State Rivals100 safety commit Nick Cross is expected to be on campus in College Park later today, also. Cross becomes an immediate likely flip candidate for the Terps, although it is unknown at this time if Cross will sign next week or wait until the later signing period. But with both Brooks and Locksley now in College Park, the Terps become the frontrunners to sign Cross when the time comes.

- As for Alabama Rivals100 wideout commit DeMarcco Hellams, his status is a little more muddied. Crimson Tide head man Nick Saban was in Hyattsville to see the DeMatha product earlier in the week and sources have told TSR that flipping Hellams from the Tide to the Terps would be difficult. But with both Brooks and Locksley now in College Park, we aren't ready to write off the DeMatha four-star athlete just yet.

- The new staff began doling out some 2019 offers last night, as Good Counsel three-star offensive lineman Mason Lunsford picked up a Terps offer, as well as Bridgeton Academy two-star offensive lineman Davis Divall. As we've mentioned several times already, offensive line is a huge need for new coach Mike Locksley both to close out this class and moving forward.

- Finally, another possible flip candidate was spotted at the basketball game last night with Marcus Berry. UConn two-star TE commit Malik Jackson of Ft. Meade was seen being shown around by Berry and talking with new head man Mike Locksley. Tight End has been a position in which the Terps have really struggled over the past few years and the 6-foot-4, 225 pounder would be a welcomed addition.

Stay tuned for more as we continue to learn new info...
