So I just did a radio spot in Chicago and was asked this question and I thought it would be an interesting question for the board: What do you think Maryland's ceiling is in football in the Big Ten?

I believe it would probably take multiple decades of 10-plus-win seasons and a new stadium to become a blue blood like Ohio St. or Michigan.

That said, I think with the right coach, the local talent pool and improved facilities there is absolutely no reason Maryland can't regularly compete with the Michigan States, Wisconsins and Nebraskas. Meaning, regularly winning 8-10 games with an occasional trip to the B1G title game and an occasional BCS bowl.

Friedgen almost did it, but Maryland just needs that Mark Dantonio or Barry Alvarez who can have a sustained decade of success and you're off. I think DJ could be that guy.
