Spoke with a couple of hoops recruiting sources today and it appears the Terps aren't any closer to landing any 2022 targets at the moment.

Both UNC and Illinois feel pretty good about Cam Whitmore and the prevailing belief locally is that the Terps are really starting to fade.

Rowan Brumbaugh, the fast-rising 2022 PG that lives in the area and who took an official visit just before the last dead period doesn't seem any closer to making a decision and he continues to blow up. He now has a Kansas offer and if he plays well this week down at NBPA Top 100, it's possible he blows up even more. The Terps still seem to have a shot here, but his list could be expanding soon vs. shrinking.

Maryland offered a pair of guards last week after watching them in EYBL play. First was Expressions Elite PG Desmond Claude. Although currently unrated, Claude has a strong offer list that includes Butler, Creighton, Marquette, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Xavier and more. This seems like a solid offer, but it also leaves one to believe that they probably aren't feeling great about their chances with the other point guards on the board, including Brumbaugh. The other 2022 backcourt product to pick up an offer was Texas three-star SG TJ Caldwell of Drive Nation out of Dallas. Again, a pretty fairly strong offer list that includes the likes of Arizona State, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. Finally, one other recent EYBL offer is Rivals150 wing forward Chris Bunch out of California. Again, a strong offer list that includes the likes of Arkansas, Creighton, FSU, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Rutgers, Seton Hall and USC. From what I've been told, there's a very good chance he winds up on the East Coast.

On a somewhat related note (and not a good one), Georgetown is likely adding NJ three-star PG Denver Anglin to their 2022 class tomorrow. That should eliminate the Hoyas with Rowan Brumbaugh. High academic kid who had some big offers. And while they are fading even faster than Maryland for Cam Whitmore, they will have five-star wing Chris Livingston on campus for an official visit this weekend. It feels like that improbable run to the Big East tourney title gave them a bit of juice for this recruiting cycle.
