Edsall gets fired before the bye week, Locks becomes interim HC, takes advantage of weak opponents on 2nd half schedule (Penn State, Indiana, Rutgers), plus the 2nd wind teams get a lot of times with midseason coaching change, team looks more competitive under Locks and as a result he gets the job.
