Big game this Friday vs. #9 Virginia. UVA is 2-1 having pulled off an upset over Syracuse after an earlier upset loss to Loyola. That is Jen Adams' Loyola squad, which indicates more about Loyola as a rising program than any problems with the Cavaliers who are always tough. They still have an A-A in Brittany Kalkstein and they gave the Terps a good game last year which the Terps won 15-11.
Defender Alexcia Niumatalolo is no longer with the Terps. Reports are that there were unspecified team rule violations and she is no longer with the program; a return is unlikely.
The Terps' dominant performance over Duke last week, 17-4, is an indication of what this program can become. Duke is still #6 and a legit national contender; beating a program like that on their own field is an amazing result.
