If Dan Mullen is the choice, it will create a lot of buzz and be a major hire for the University of Maryland.
Dan Mullen is only 43 years old. In seven years as the head coach of Mississippi State, he has made that program successful in the tough SEC. He has compiled a record of 53 wins against 34 losses and has gone to 5 bowl games.
So why leave? He and his wife are from Pennsylvania and just maybe it is time his family moved closer to home. Also, there is not much more he can do there with the resources in place. i know it might sound crazy, but it would actually be easier for him to coach against Ohio States of the world than Alabama, Florida and Auburn.
The University of Maryland would have a lot to offer him as a new challenge and with support behind the scenes from Under Armour. It just might be too enticing to pass up.
Thus Dan Mullen, could be the perfect hire. In this scenario, let it be known that the University of Maryland would get the right man for this job!
