WBB: No. 14 Maryland meets Loyola Monday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The 14th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (9-2) will host Loyola (2-7) Monday at 6 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. For tickets, click here or call 1-800-IM-A-TERP.

Fans will be encouraged to donate women’s professional attire to Dress for Success – an organization supporting local women in need of business attire. Fans will have the opportunity to take a photo with Testudo in his Santa costume on the concourse from 5:00-5:45 p.m.

The Terrapins own the all-time series vs. the Greyhounds, 23-3 and have won the last 17 straight meetings. They have played in each of the last 11 seasons. Maryland won 79-60 at Loyola on Dec. 12 last year.

The Terrapins beat George Washington, 80-54, Friday night at the XFINITY Center. Blair Watson went 5-for-11 from three for 19 points, Kaila Charles scored 14 and Ieshia Smallhad 13 points. Stephanie Jones chipped in 12 points and Brianna Fraser scored 10 off the bench.

Charles was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll Monday after averaging 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds in the Terps' two wins last week.

Five Terrapins are scoring in double figures - Kaila Charles (18.4), Ieshia Small (12.8),Stephanie Jones (12.1), Blair Watson (12.0) and Kristen Confroy (11.1).

Maryland is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and tied with Duke (7-2) for No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches poll.

After Monday's game, the Terrapins will take a break suring final exam week. They will be back in action on Wed., Dec. 20 at Coppin State in Baltimore. The Terps and the Eagles will tip off at 2 p.m. Junior guard Eleanna Christinaki will be eligible in the Coppin State game.
