Maryland lost second leading scorer Blair Watson for the season last week with a torn right ACL suffered in practice. Watson is the Terps’ second-leading scorer with 13.8 points through 17 games this season. She is the Big Ten’s most improved scorer and ranked third in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.441).
Seven Terrapins are scoring in double figures - Kaila Charles (17.2), Blair Watson (13.8),Ieshia Small (11.8), Eleanna Christinaki (11.7), Stephanie Jones (11.6), Brianna Fraser(10.7) and Kristen Confroy (10.2). Maryland is the only team in the country with seven in double figures.
Confroy currently has made 185 career threes. She is No. 3 on Maryland's all-time list, behind just Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (186) and Kristi Toliver (300).
Maryland is ranked No. 11 in the Associated Press poll and in the USA Today Coaches poll.
After Tuesday's contest, the Terrapins will host No. 10 Ohio State (16-2, 5-0) Monday at 7 p.m. in College Park. The Terps-Buckeyes matchup will be televised around the world on ESPN2 as part of Big Monday. The game can be seen online through WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app.
The Terps will “Play4theCure” supporting cancer awareness and the efforts of the National Foundation for Cancer Research to eradicate cancer.
