ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the Maryland women's basketball team's home and away conference games for the 2019-20 season Wednesday afternoon.
Dates and times of these games will be announced at a later date. Big Ten women's basketball teams will play 18 conference games next season.
The Terps are scheduled to host five 2019 NCAA Tournament teams in Michigan State, Rutgers, Iowa, Michigan and Indiana, as well as Purdue, Nebraska, Ohio State and Northwestern at the XFINITY Center. They will play home/away matchups Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan and Nebraska. The Terrapins will travel to Illinois, Penn State, Minnesota and Wisconsin.
In the five years since joining the Big Ten, the Terrapins have won four out of five Big Ten regular season championships, including this season's title with a 15-3 record in conference play. They are 89-12 (.881) in league play, including their 13-2 record in the Big Ten Tournament.
Head coach Kaila Charles, Taylor Mikesell, Stephanie Jones and Shakira Austin. Mikesell was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year by the league's head coaches. She made 95 three-pointers this season, more than any player in a season in Maryland basketball history – men's or women's. Austin broke the program's 40-year-old record with 89 blocked shots this season.
