Inside the numbers:
Personal foul differential:
-4.8 fewer fouls called on Terps at home vs on road
-that is the 10th largest differential in entire nation
Summary: Terps can’t get a call on road (as we all here already knew lol…)
Offensive efficiency splits is an estimation of points scored per 100 possessions
Home - 116.9 points per 100 possessions
Road - 95.7 points per 100 possessions
Difference of 21.2 points per game home vs road, huge difference
(glaring home vs road splits, sort of like Colorado Rockies hitting/batting averages playing in thin air at home vs when on road away from Coors Field effect lol)
Free throw rate differential:
Home:
+18
Road
-15.77
Terps avg 1.8 more fta per 10 fga than opponents at home vs 1.577 fewer fta per 10 fga vs opponents on road
(again, not near as many fta’s outside of Xfinity, just proof of our suspicions on this board as many here have posted about getting zero calls in away B1G games…)
Willard: “I don’t know what guys have to do to deserve a foul on the road. That’s been a big part of our road problems is the free throw disparity has been crazy on the road.”
Good news is no more “true” road games left, neutral only but stats are a telling recap of our A+ home success vs F road success
