Terps 2020 commit Marcus Dockery was among the big performers Saturday during the first Under Armour session in Chicago, scoring 21 points in a 2-point loss to a Team Rio team that features IMG guard Noah Farrakhan. Later on Saturday, Dockery went off for 28 points in a loss to Team Sizzle which featured five-star Jalen Suggs and recent Terps offeree, 7-footer Chet Holmgren. Very encouraging to see that Dockery was 7-for-13 from behind the arc in those two games and scored the ball efficiently.
But Dockery did have a clunker on Sunday, scoring just 4 points on 2-of-14 shooting from the field, including 0-for-9 from behind the arc. He did have 4 assists and a steal, but he needs to get more consistent scoring the ball and hopefully that comes this spring/summer. There is no doubt Dockery can provide instant offense with his shot, but he just needs to remain locked in and focused at all times. I think that will come in time.
