After Wells picked up that 2nd foul in the middle of the 1st half Turge didn't give Melo a blow until under 9 left in the game.
That's a big reason why we got nothing from Melo after the first 7 minutes, he was clearly fatigued in the 2nd half.
Also, going forward, it's key whenever Wells gets doubled in the post and he kicks it out, whoever he kicks it out to needs to regularly make those shots. Wells has showed good court vision the past couple of nights when he got doubled in the post, but he seemed to start getting frustrated when we didn't convert on those kick outs (that and the early foul trouble I'm sure played a factor).
If your looking for a positive spin, we got nothing from Melo after the first 7 minutes, little from Wells and nothing from Layman and yet we still had a chance to beat a good team until the last 2 minutes. Collectively, I doubt those 3 will have as bad as a game in the tournament.
Also, I'm not going to complain about not having to play 3 games in 3 days than turnaround 4 days later and play 2 out of 3 days, particularly given some of the fatigue issues Melo and maybe even Wells showed today.
