Does anyone else find it encouraging that, despite a terrible season, despite the firing of the HC mid season, despite the fact that no one knows who the HC will be next year, the 2016 class is holding together? I have believed for some time that the long range strategy was to build the brand, with a big part of that being a major upgrade in facilities. Do that, and you can survive a miss on a HC (see Alabama and David Shula). Many on this board have rightfully pointed out the lack of a FB tradition at Maryland. We can argue the reason for that until the cows come home. But there is no denying that we have been teased with periods of near greatness - the early 50's, Jerry Claiborne, Bobby Ross, the early RF years - only to see the program sink again into a deep hole. I for one believe we are at a point where we will climb back our of that hole, and will just keep climbing. Does anyone doubt that UA is in this for anything less than greatness?
I am keeping my fingers crossed that the class holds together, that Adams will be flipping to Md, and that the Movement is real and gathering steam. Lastly, lets hope that all the talk of the Admins willingness to spend $ on a new coach is real, and that we bring in a coach who can instill a sense of commitment and excitement in CP.
My (optimistic) thoughts for a Thursday morning.
