Rider's 1-3-1 zone gave Maryland fits Friday night and it was almost enough for the Broncos to pull off at big upset over the Terps.
Things got off to an interesting start when it was found out moments before tip-off that Michal Cekovsky would be starting at center in place of Diamond Stone. At first, the lineup tinkering didn't seem to provide anything for the Terps, who found themselves down 14 points in the second half at one point. But Stone didn't let coming off the bench bother him and he scored 10 of his 12 points in the second half to help lead Maryland to a comeback 65-58 win.
The Terps are now 3-0, but as Turgeon said after the game, they know they have to play much better moving forward than they did tonight.
