I go back to the days of Ward and Lester and thought I'd never see football played so poorly again…wrong! The first half yesterday was the equal or worse. Much has been said about coaching and I agree with all of it but what I saw yesterday was even more disturbing. I don't think I have ever seen a Maryland team with such a low energy level. With the exception of Hendy's illegal hit, the defense was playing matador with tackling, low effort getting off blocks and the list goes on. The OL's ferocity off the LOS, picking up blitzes, standing around while the opponents rush the QB are examples on the offensive side and the list goes on. This allows RE to go into the usual mantra of 'fundamentals and technique' which is really a self-indictment of coaching…or it could be the initial signs of 'losing the team'. I've seen it happen before.
