Pat caught up with Indy 5-star SF Kris Wilkes a littler earlier this afternoon to talk to him about the Terps offer he picked up earlier today. Maryland and specifically assistant Cliff Warren began reaching out to Wilkes during the summer. Terps assistants were in Indy last week to check in on several of them and then Turgeon was out today to offer.
Wilkes is extremely skilled and at 6-7 or so is almost a point forward. He can handle the ball, slash to the basket and he can finish with both hands. He also has very good vision and a nice looking outside shot. At this point, Wilkes is wide open and I expect the Terps could help their cause with a big season.
