Anderson says this morning when he woke up is when he had made his decision. Says going back to the seasons second game is when they started looking at options.
Anderson says there are some short term costs but they see long term benefit.
Met with Randy and then asked Mike if he'd be willing to take over the program this AM.
Anderson says the bye weighed heavily on his decision.
Anderson says it's important that they have someone who's committed to academics, having good men as well as winning on the field. They also want someone who can come in and excite the fan base. Also says they will have data to use next time around.
On firing Randy after extension. Says that at that time, he thought they would progress but after the last three games decided it was time.
Anderson says he knows the fans want exciting wide open offense. Says there are things they can and they showed that yesterday.
Locksley says he met with the team and obviously change is tough. And as a program they have decided to move forward. Anderson says they want the team go out and have fun and play hard.
Locksley says with the bye coming up, if he sees things they can do to help the team win they will do them, but he doesn't expect wholesale changes.
