They say in coaching hires you should always go opposite of the previous coach (in terms of players coach vs disciplinarian), but in our situation it's even more true. Think about it. Edsall was a old school type, we can see clearly now the players hated him. Locksley comes in with his players coach mentality and the players have responded, for them it was like when the Wizard of Oz went from black and white to color. After giving players 6 weeks of color, if we go back to giving them black and white, it will not be well received. Adding another layer to this is that Locksley will likely be on the new coaches staff, you don't want a new coach come in, the players don't like his methods and the guy who they did enjoy playing for still on staff, it's a ugly dynamic.
That's why when I hear guys like BOB or Schiano, it should be a non starter for that reason alone.
