never got it rolling at DePaul. When he left Clemson to go to DePaul I thought it was one of the more bizarre coaching moves. DePaul was a mess and he was starting to get things rolling at Clemson and presently I don't know if DePaul is a better job than Clemson. When he left to go to DePaul I remember his name was hot in coaching circles, a year earlier was the year that there was talk of Yow trying to force Gary out and one of the hot rumors was Purnell would of been a leading candidate to replace Gary.
